The brief was to create a medative garden of movement, sound and fragrance. Although the garden was not very large the clients wanted to be able to journey around the garden, sit in dappled sunlight, and also find a home for all their statues, water fountain and object d'art they had collected over the years. The garden was to be magical, unique, and reflective.

The solution was to create an s-shaped path around the garden incorporating a reflective pond with 'floating' paving slabs, goldfish and arum lilies. As the path curves around the garden it gradually narrows to create an illusion of greater size and directs the eye toward the large pergola and seating area which will eventually be clothed with fragrant purple wisteria. Texture and natural stone were very important to the clients so limestone, stone setts and gravel were carefully chosen to compliment each other. LED lights and fairy lights add to the magical qualit
