"Thank you for transforming our garden from
a building site into what is now a beautiful area to relax and
entertain in"
The garden had many level changes, especially near the house, and
was being used as a carpark because of the garage at the rear of
the garden. The clients very much enjoy sitting in the sun and requested
a raised seating area to make the most of the evening sun, plenty
of space for eating and sitting outdoors, a semi-formal pond, and
a large lawn. The solution was to create a garden on three levels;
a lower terrace with steps down from the house for al fresco dining.
Here a small pond with a fountain lead the steps around and up to
the second level, where the path curves around a semi -circular lawn,
across the 'floating' stepping stones in the pond, and up to the
raised terrace at the rear of the garden. The materials are red stock
bricks to echo the colour of the house, a pink-ish Indian sandstone
and a self-binding gravel path.
