Classic front garden
Teddington
Constructed March 2025 by Barrigans Gardens
A beautiful Edwardian semi with a north-east facing front garden which was neglected and unloved with a cracked path to the front door and a combination of concrete and reconstituted stone pavers on the ground, with no planting except for one camellia in a container and old lavender growing from a dated front wall
The brief: To make the front garden more attractive and welcoming
Design solution: Create a driveway to the right-hand side of the garden, but more importantly make the garden prettier and in keeping with the beautiful frontage of the house
The windows are a wonderful feature and should be enhanced with planting
Use natural materials that suit the style and age of the property, to give it a classic traditional feel with cobbles
Replace the front wall with a lower brick wall and iron railings
Simple low maintenance planting with a gentle palette using a combination of large white hydrangeas, pretty geraniums, pachysandra to provide groundcover edging and a euonymus hedge
