Cocoon Garden

Teddington

In the design phase September 2025

Design Rationale

A garden with soft curves, flowing lines and an S-shape path leading to a zen space with a round terrace for yoga and hammock, with a natural cascading mini stream over rocks with water tumbling over moss covered stones, lush tropical green plants, with a small Japanese bench nestled amongst stones, ferns and moss. The garden is calm, enclosing and welcoming with hidden spots to discover along the way, and lush planting to create privacy and peace.  The emphasis is on privacy with feature trees to create constrast in colour and form, such as palm trees, tree ferns and weeping catalpa or dissected Acers, which can be used as shelters. Paddlestones dotted amongst evergreen groundcover lead you toward a hanging egg chair tucked underneath a tall palm tree. The garden is green and calming, brimming with character, texture, and the sound of gently tumbling water. A cosy, relaxing, playful space with a variety of seating options that create the sense of being cocooned.
